Fire Destroys Jersey City (NJ) Tower Ladder

One New Jersey fire department is operating without a tower ladder after a recycling plant fire destroyed the only one the department had.

A fire last week in Jersey City wrecked the apparatus and burned for about 12 hours, sending black smoke across the Hudson River, according to a Jersey Journal report (http://bit.ly/16LdwqX).

The decades-old fire apparatus will be replaced with a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
