Jasper County (SC) to Get New $1.8M Marsh Cove Station

Jasper County (SC) will soon have a new, $1.8 million Marsh Cove station, reports blufftontoday.com. The new digs will be 5,604 square feet, with about half of that living quarters for emergency personnel on duty.

The new station aims to improve services between the Roseland and Mead Road stations and is scheduled to open later this year.

Groundbreaking for the station, located at 4820 Lowcountry Dr., is scheduled for Thursday. The Phipps family donated the property to the county.

The general contractor is C. Merrill Construction of Statesboro, Ga. Grady Woods of Jasper County is the architect and Thomas & Hutton of Savannah will provide engineering services. The contract calls for the project to be completed in six months.
