Green Bay Metro Fire Acquires New Lightweight Thermal Imaging Devices

Green Bay, WI—Green Bay Metro Fire received new thermal imaging cameras that are much smaller than conventional models and integrate with smart phones.

The cameras are mounted to an Iphone, and Division Chief Brent Elliott says the key feature for the department’s new thermal imaging cameras is size. The cameras can be lifesavers when looking for hidden fire in structures, locating victims in low-visibility conditions, or even in water rescue situations.

The mini cameras cost about a 3rd of a full size model.  It’s coming out of the department’s budget.

They have four of them, have used them and are very pleased with the results.
