On May 12, an Amtrak train operating between Washington, D.C., and New York, NY, derailed shortly after departing 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As of 4:55 PM, May 13, seven are confirmed dead and more than 200 have been treated at numerous Philadelphia hospitals.
The Associated Press is reporting that the train was travelling at greater than 100 mph at the time of the derailment.
