San Bernardino County (CA) Fire Department bought two fire and rescue boats from Lake Assault Boats, a 28-footer (shown), and a 26-footer. (All photos courtesy of San Bernardino County Fire Department.)
The 26-foot Lake Assault fire and rescue boat is stationed on Lake Arrowhead.
Each boat has a 1,500-gpm Darley PSDE pump powered by a dedicated V8 engine, a Task Force Tips monitor, and three discharge ports.
The wheelhouse of the San Bernardino County boats has Lake Assault's Joystick Steering and Skyhook Digital Anchor system, useful in slow speed maneuvering and docking.
San Bernardino County firefighters deploy for a rescue using the boat's 63-inch hydraulically-operated landing craft-style bow door.
With their 1,500-gpm pumps, the San Bernardino County boats can be used as a water source for land-based apparatus.
