Mackenzie Architects designed Albany (OR) Fire Department's new Station 11 Fire Headquarters to have the flavor of a turn of the century building yet combine modern influences. (All photos courtesy of Mackenzie Architecture/Alan Brandt Photography.)
The new Station 11 has a glass faced lobby that displays vintage fire apparatus.
The interior of the Station 11 lobby.
Station 11 has a large kitchen area with all stainless steel appliances and easy to clean counter and cabinet surfaces.
The station has a meeting room off the lobby for the community, which also doubles as a training room for firefighters.
An outdoor patio on the second floor is located off the day room area.
The table and chairs in the fire station's dining room were crafted from reclaimed wood from the site of a local landmark.
