Butler Rowland Mays Architects designed this fire station to be occupied by two volunteer fire departments, Malta Ridge Fire Department and Round Lake Hose Company. (All photos courtesy of Butler Rowland Mays Architects.)
The 14,000-square foot jointly-occupied fire station has a gear turnout room with adjacent male and female bathrooms and showers, a laundry and decon room, offices for each fire company, an office for the non-profit organization Fire Companies of Malta that built the station, a ready room for firefighters, and a board of directors/public room.
The Fire Companies of Malta station features four drive-through, double-deep apparatus bays.
