Spencer Manufacturing built this top-mount custom rescue-pumper with a Waterous 1,500-gpm pump and a 1,300-gallon UPF water tank for the Orange Township (IN) Fire Department. (All photos courtesy of Spencer Manufacturing.)
The Orange Township rescue-pumper has two 1-3/4-inch cross lays of 200 feet each, 100-feet of 1-3/4-inch hose in the extended front pumper, a 2-1/2-inch preconnect at the rear, a Task Force Tips 1,250-gpm remote control monitor, and a reel with 150-feet of one-inch booster hose.
The Spencer-built rescue-pumper has a large diameter suction inlet in the extended front bumper.
A Zico ladder rack holds a 35-foot three-section extension ladder, a 14-foot roof ladder, and a 10-foot attic ladder. Hydraulic rescue tools are in the rear compartment.
Orange Township's rescue pumper is built on a 232-inch wheelbase and is powered by a Cummins 450-horsepower ISL 9 diesel engine and an Allison 3000 EVS automatic transmission.
The hosebed on the Spencer rescue-pumper holds 700 feet of 5-inch LDH, and additional 2-1-/2-inch dead lay hose. The top of the rig is accessed by a Spencer Quick Ladder™ at the rear.
