Scott Health & Safety Receives Milestone Employee Safety Award

Scott Health & Safety said it reached 2 million hours without a lost time accident – a milestone achievement in employee safety – at its Monroe, N.C., manufacturing facility.

In recognition of its achievement, Scott received a 2-Million Hour Safety Award from the North Carolina Department of Labor. Only two other companies received the award in 2009.

“Scott is very proud that our statistics are well below the industry average,” said Jim Hollingsworth, the company’s environmental health and safety manager. “To date, we have worked 680 days without a loss time accident.”

Paul Woodbury, Scott’s general manager of manufacturing, said the company strives to promote a strong culture of safety every day. “This latest award is proof that we are succeeding,” he said. “We are extremely proud of all our employees.”
