The Power Distribution System (Model PDS) by Newmar simplifies electronic accessory wiring in emergency and specialty vehicles.
The PDS powers all add-on electronics and accessories, including lights, radios and mobile data computers and terminals by assigning them to an always-hot, timed or ignition circuit. Each circuit includes its own LED warning light that identifies blown fuse positions.
The unit provides up to 20 circuits configurable in any combination up to 100 total amps. The timed circuits, user-programmed from 2 minutes to 13 hours, automatically shut off radios and computers that operate while the engine is off, saving the vehicle battery.
Another battery-saving feature is the low-voltage disconnect circuit that automatically shuts-off PDS power equipment when voltage drops below 10 vdc. The PDS measures 11-by-5-by-2 inches.
Located in Newport Beach, Calif., Newmar has been supplying DC power solutions to emergency vehicles, telecommunications and the marine industry since 1970.
