INDUSTRY INNOVATIONS: ACS Develops Fire Inspection iPad

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS) unveiled FHinspector for the iPad, an application for the Apple iPad that allows information to be shared with firefighters, giving them access to critical data in an emergency.

Part of the FIREHOUSE Software suite of offerings, FHinspector for the iPad combines the user-friendly iPad interface with GPS technology and the ability to perform fire inspections and track key information, such as building details, evacuation plans and hydrant locations

The complete inspection solution with an iPad and application features:

  • GPS to determine a building’s location and other useful information, including building and business information, business contacts, preplan details and inspection history.
  • Standard inspection questionnaire for easy, efficient and quality inspections.
  • An inspection summary, which provides a review of the inspection, captures violations and building owner signatures, and sets the next inspection date.
  • Instant billing, which sends an automated email invoice for the building owner to pay and then post a fire inspection permit that day.
The FHinspector application is available at the Apple iTunes Store for download.
