Public Safety Equipment (PSE), the parent company of Code 3, Inc., has been purchased by Stirling Square Capital Partners (SSCP). Code 3, headquartered in St. Louis Mo., manufactures a complete line of lighting and sound-based warning products used on fire and emergency response vehicles.
SSCP manages mid-market private equity funds from its London-based operations. With Citigroup and Diamond Castle as cornerstone investors, SSCP focuses on companies with market leadership positions, strong development potential and talented management teams, according to SSCP.
In addition to Code 3, PSE is the parent of Kustom Signals, a company based in Lenexa, Kan., supplying speed enforcement, speed awareness and in-car video systems to law enforcement and public safety agencies. It also is parent to LaserCraft, a designer and supplier of speed and automatic red-light law enforcement systems based in Norcross, Ga.
The PSE management team, which includes Roy Brown, Rod Hightower, Mike Rayner and David Smith, will remain in place and continue to lead the company as equity owners.
