Woman Injured in Collision with North Las Vegas Fire Apparatus

Authorities said a woman has been hospitalized after she ran a red light and was hit by a North Las Vegas fire truck.

North Las Vegas Fire Department says the engine was responding to a medical call on Tuesday morning with its lights and siren on. The department says the fire engine hit the side of a pickup truck, sending it spinning and causing it to crash into a tree.

Fire officials say the middle-aged woman driving the truck was injured and is in stable condition at University Medical Center.

According to the department, the woman appears to have been texting while driving.
