Woman Injured in Accident with West York (PA) Fire Apparatus

A West York Fire Department ladder truck on a fire call collided Monday morning with a car in West Manchester Township.

The driver of the car, an 18-year-old woman, suffered leg and neck injuries. She was taken to York Hospital, according to a news release from township police.

Emergency responders had to extricate the woman from the vehicle.

The woman’s vehicle pulled out from a stop sign on Derry Road into the path of the truck, which was traveling westbound on Taxville Road, according to the news release.

Police said witnesses reported the ladder truck had its lights and sirens on at the time of the 7:39 a.m. crash.
