Wiscasset (ME) Considers Fire Apparatus Repair

A new oil pump for a Wiscasset Fire Department ladder truck will be up for discussion at a selectmen’s meeting.

The pump’s installation would provide enough power for the ladder to be lifted out of the truck bed, Fire Chief T.J. Merry states in a January 16 memo to selectmen. A joy stick that controls the ladder has had an issue, and can be examined once the ladder is lifted, the memo states.

The oil pump work has been estimated at about $4,000, according to the memo.
