Winston-Salem (NC) Fire Department Works on Emergency Driving Training

Winston-Salem Fire Department does hundreds of hours worth of training each year, reports WXII 12.

The training includes emergency driving training in which fire truck drivers practice drills that can prepare them for any hazards or obstacles.

It takes 60 hours of training in order to drive a standard fire engine and another 60 hours to drive the long Tiller truck.

The long hours of training help payoff when the trucks must travel rapidly to emergency scenes.
