Spout Springs (NC) Firefighter Trapped, Injured After Brush Truck Rollover

A Spout Springs Emergency Services firefighter was injured Monday, Dec. 23, when the brush truck he was driving collided with a vehicle at an intersection while responding to a brush fire, the department said in a Facebook post.

At approximately 3:21 p.m., members of Spout Springs Emergency Services were dispatched to a brush fire on Cameron Hill Road. At approximately 3:29 p.m., while responding, and with lights and sirens activated, a vehicle collided with the brush truck at the intersection of Delaware Lane and NC 24, the post said. The collision caused the brush truck to roll over, trapping the driver.

The driver of the brush truck was extricated from the vehicle and flown to a hospital to receive treatment. He is currently in stable condition.
