The Weymouth Town Council has authorized the a fire truck purchase, reports WickedLocal.com.
There will be a transfer of $1.77 million from Weymouth’s stabilization account to fund the new fire truck.
The Department of Public Works is responsible for maintaining and repairing the vehicles.
The new ladder truck will replace a 15-year-old vehicle. The fire department currently has three “front line” engine trucks and one ladder apparatus. The Boston Fire Department loaned a ladder truck and fire engine during the past year.
