Wetumpka AL Approves Fire Apparatus Purchase

Wetumpka Fire Department (AL) has received permission to proceed with the purchase of a new Class A pumper.

City council members voted to approve the lowest responsible bid on the equipment — $484,750 from Sunbelt Fire Equipment of Fairhope.

City Clerk Janice Whorton pointed out that fire department will use fire fee bill money for the purchase.

Whorton said the Wetumpka Fire Department typically receives more than $200,000 per year in fee bill revenues.
