Vinton County (OH) Receive Equipment Grants

The Ohio State Fire Marshals Office has given grants to two fire departments in Vinton County.

The Wilkesville VFD received a $10,000 equipment grant and the Zaleski Fire Department was awarded a $4,560 equipment grant.

The purpose of the grants is to offset the cost of training. “This program allows Ohio’s fire departments to get better equipment for their first responders so they can protect their citizens more effectively,” said Commerce Director Andre Porter.

“These firefighters must have the equipment they need to perform their jobs,” said Marshal Flowers. “We want to make sure each responder will be able to serve fully and return home safely at the end of an emergency. This grant will help enable that.”
