Vintage Fire Apparatus Returns to Linwood (MN)

One of the first fire trucks acquired by the Linwood Fire Department is coming home. Supervisors on July 8 authorized the vehicle’s purchase after former Chief Ken Minske spoke of the historical value of the truck to the department.

The vintage truck was originally purchased from the Minneapolis Fire Department in the 1950s.

A number of fire department reserve members attended in support of the proposal. They have volunteered labor and will raise money to finish restoration of the truck.

The board approved the purchase in the amount of $9,800. Money is to come from the township’s general fund. One of the sale conditions is that the truck will remain with the department.
