Vernon Marks Arrival of New Fire Apparatus

The Vernon Fire Department dedicated its three new trucks, which include two custom pumpers and a rescue truck, on Sunday in a traditional “Wet Down” ceremony.

The pumpers cost $493,254 and the rescue truck a dollar less, according to Town Council records. All three carry annual lease-purchase payments of $65,000.

They are replacing a 1989 pumper, a 1990 pumper and a 1985 rescue vehicle.
