Hilton Head Island, S.C. – The 356 Volunteer Fire Department in Trinity, Texas, whose station was destroyed by fire earlier this month, is due to receive a used fire truck from Palmetto Fire Apparatus, a company in South Carolina, according to a report from The Island Packet.
The July 17th fire destroyed the fire station and equipment worth approximately $400,000 which was uninsured. Investigators are still trying to determine the cause.
Palmetto Fire Apparatus decided to help the department after seeing news reports about their loss, according to the Island Packet report:
The report added, “We’ve been very blessed, and we saw it as a good opportunity to step up.”
