Two Ohio Firefighters Injured in Fire Apparatus Accident

Two volunteer firefighters were hurt when their fire truck crashed while they were returning to their station following a call to a house fire.

The firefighters were with the Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department in Wheelersburg (OH). The accident happened along Turkey Foot Road about 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

A spokesperson for the fire department says the firefighters were returning to Station 2 after getting their truck cleaned at Station 1 following a mutual aid call in South Webster.

The accident happened when the pumper’s rear wheel went off the road, causing the truck to overturn.

House says Fire Chief Paul Davis remains in a Huntington hospital but is expected to be released. The other firefighter was treated and released. The damaged truck was the only pumper at Station 2.
