Two Injured in Accident Involving Franklin Township (NJ) Ambulance

Two people were injured in a serious head-on crash involving an ambulance and two cars in Franklin Township Tuesday, police said.

According Franklin Township police, officers responded to South Middlebush Road and Buffa Drive following several 911 calls that came in around 3:32 p.m.

In a press release Wednesday, police said the crash occurred when a Nissan Altima driver by 76-year-old Robert Held of Monroe Township crossed over the center line on South Middlebush Road.

Authorities said according to an investigation, the car sideswiped an ABLE Medical Transport ambulance driven by 24-year-old Matthew Hall of Bloomsbury.

Held sustained “potentially life-threatening injuries” in the crash and was transported to a hospital. The driver of the Kia suffered less serious injuries and was also taken to a hospital, police said.
