Two Firefighters Injured in Accident Involving Two Fire Vehicles

UPDATE:  WSBTV ( reports that two fire employees and four firefighters were injured in a crash in southwest Atlanta involving two fire vehicles.

A witness says the four firefighters jumped from the truck moments before it caught fire. 

The two fire employees in the SUV were able to get out of the car on their own.

All six injured in this crash were transported to Grady Hospital.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two firefighters were injured after an accident involving another fire department vehicle on Thursday.

The Atlanta Fire engine was responding to a warehouse fire when it was slammed head-on into an SUV on Lee Street SW at Van Buren Street SW. The SUV was also a fire department vehicle.

Quintin Barksdale said he heard an explosion on the fire truck right before it was engulfed in flames.

The injured firefighters were in the SUV. They were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Four people on the fire truck were not injured.
