At approximately 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8 the remaining structure of the building at 68 West Fourth Avenue collapsed after having sustained a fire causing a total loss a few days ago, Williamson Mayor Charlie Hatfield reported on the city’s Facebook page.

The teardown was already contracted and scheduled. The Williamson Fire Department responded to the call Sunday morning of another flare up, and during the call the frontage of the burned building collapsed injuring two firefighters. One injured more severely than the other, the post said.

All resources of the city are assisting.

WFD equipment was damaged by the collapse including, but not limited to, one fire truck, the post said.
