The Town Council of Winfield did not act on the Lakes of the Four Seasons Volunteer Fire Force request to fund the purchase of a new pumper truck.
It normally takes a year to year-and-a-half to get delivery of a new engine. The department cut that down by deciding to purchase a demonstration engine, but even if ordered tomorrow they would not get delivery until early 2013.
Councilman James Simmons was upset that the request had been dropped at the last minute at the meeting. He was told that Councilman Don Samburg is the council’s liaison with the Fire Force. Samburg reponded, “Everything we discuss goes right back to the board.”
