Three Transported to Hospital After Crash Involving Hampton (VA) Fire Apparatus

A Hampton fire truck was involved in a three-vehicle accident in the intersection of Andrews Boulevard and Woodland Road.

Hampton police say the Hampton Fire engine truck was travelling northbound on Woodland Road when it was struck by a blue GMC pickup, which was travelling eastbound on Andrews Boulevard, around 10:55 a.m. The impact then caused the fire truck to crash into a red Volkswagen which was traveling south on Woodland Road.

All three drivers, a woman and two men, were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the fire engine was not en route to an emergency call at the time of the crash.

The crash is currently being investigated by members of the Hampton Police Division Reconstruction Team.
