WYOMING, MI—Thomasville (GA) Fire Rescue has taken delivery of an all-new HME SilverFox, built on an exclusive HME 1871-SFO custom chassis with a maneuverable 52-degree cramp angle and seating for six.
It’s powered by a Cummins ISC8.3 330-hp diesel engine and equipped with a Hale “Q-Flo Plus” 1,250-gpm midship pump.
It uses single frame rails, Meritor/Wabco ABS 4-wheel brake system, a four-wheel stability enhancement system, an Allison 3000EVS automatic transmission with a push-button selector, transmission temperature warning light and alarm, a three-dimensional stainless front grille, heated and remote controlled moto-mirror with lower convex, cab tilt road interlock, SCBA seating, Gen II EMS full-height cabinet with satin anodized roll-up doors and deep adjustable shelving, a center hosewell, and HME Hydra Technology™ on a brushed stainless steel pump panel.

It also offers two crosslay beds, Elkhart #8500 “Vulcan” manual (tiller control) monitor, a Hale “FoamLogix” 2.1 system with a 30-gallon class A polypropylene external tank, a 1,000-gallon water T-Tank, 156 cubic feet of compartment space, 63-inch hosebed height, multipurpose storage inside the tank compartment, adjustable hosebed dividers, seven SCBA tubes, FoxTrax toolboards, two Worden wheel chocks, and a PTO “hot shift.”
