Calhoun (MO) VFD Tanker Rolls Over; Driver Extricated from Apparatus

A Calhoun (MO) Volunteer Fire Department tanker was involved in a single-vehicle rollover accident Wednesday, March 12, the department said in a Facebook post. The driver, who had to be extricated from the apparatus, is recovering at home with no major injuries.

At approximately 6:10 a.m. Wednesday, the Calhoun VFD responded to a natural cover fire in the area of Northeast Highway V and C Highway in rural Henry County. While en route to the scene, Calhoun Tanker One was involved in a single-vehicle rollover incident. The driver of the apparatus had to be extricated from the vehicle and was transported to Research Medical Center by Golden Valley Memorial E.M.S. in stable condition.

“We ask for prayers for our injured firefighter and the fire department,” the department said in the post.

The department posted this update on the driver of the apparatus:

“He is home and recovering with no major injuries. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers. Equipment can be replaced, but personnel are irreplaceable. We would also like to extend a special thank you to Golden Valley Memorial Ambulance, Missouri State Troopers, Clinton Wrecker, Henry County 911 Communications, and the Henry County Sheriffs Office for all their assistance during this difficult situation.”
