Suspicious Package At Waco Fire Station Not Dangerous

A suspicious package found Monday at local business in North prompted police to evacuate some residents who live in the area but an investigation proved the package was not dangerous.

Police were sent at about noon Monday to the fire station at 2625 Park Lake Drive after a suspicious package was brought there after it was discovered at a nearby business, Waco police Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton said.

Firefighters assigned to Station 2 secured the package until investigators could arrive.

The package was sent to a nearby business but it did not include any threats, Swanton said.

Fire department officials inspected the package and determined it did not pose a threat.

Those evacuated were allowed to return to their homes at about 12:45 p.m.
