Sumner Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the community gathered to celebrate a new piece of equipment.
They have purchased a new Rapid Response Vehicle, which can go where normal ambulances can’t. It’s a regular SUV outfitted with special medical gear.
“The level of care we provide is very high for a rural area,” said Brian Donaldson of Sumner EMS. “It also means that that’s available to people who border our primary service area, so in most cases that includes the level of their care as well.”
The event also marked the start of a fundraising campaign for EMS. They want to raise $1.5 million for a new facility.
