Stolen Gaylesville (AL) Fire Apparatus Recovered in Field

Cherokee County investigators are investigating who stole a brush truck from the Gaylesville Fire Department and left it abandoned in a field.

Sheriff Jeff Shaver said the burglary happened sometime over the weekend. A 2000 Ford F250 brush truck was found in a Gaylesville field, along with a stolen chainsaw and fire radio.

Several other items were taken and are still missing, Shaver said. They include a generator, two chainsaws, two backpack blowers and flashlights. Investigators gathered fingerprints at both sites.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (256) 927-3365.
