Cclimate controls, scene lights and sirens are all within an arm’s reach as well as a monitor for the driver to check up on passengers and paramedics. This upgraded ambulance for the St. Charles county ambulance district is the first of its kind in the area for first responders.
Safety was their number one priority when planning the modern ambulance. Older vehicles have cabinets and supplies on the other side, not always convenient when traveling down the highway at 70 miles an hour.
The forward thinking design allows for sideways sitting while attending to a patient. Two units, at around two hundred thousand dollars will go into service next week. That makes three modern ambulances of their 32 vehicle fleet, which they service themselves.
