Spring Hill TN to Buy Fire Rescue Truck

Officials in Spring Hill (TN) have recently voted for a $50,000 down payment on a new $481,000 rescue truck, which will take roughly a year to order, custom build and deliver.

The city plans to pay the remaining $431,000 next budget year when the truck is delivered.

Refurbishing the existing rescue truck would cost about $165,000, plus $40,000 for various firefighting cutting tools. The life span for a refurbished truck is estimated at five years. The previous truck has been problematic to the crew and has had a history of breakdowns and expensive repair bills.

The rescue company is a specialty firefighting and EMS apparatus with the ability to haul around tools that might be needed for medical emergencies and technical rescue situations, such as a vehicle crash extrication or a building collapse.
