Southington (CT) Accident Leaves Fire Apparatus Out of Service

A ladder truck and the town’s primary rescue truck are both being appraised for damage following an accident.

Both fire trucks sustained minor, but visible damage after the town’s primary rescue truck clipped the corner of a ladder truck Friday following a busy afternoon of responses, Assistant Fire Chief T. Russell Wisner said.

The damage is not believed to be terribly costly, but an insurance adjuster was on scene Tuesday to determine the extent of the damage, Wisner said. Estimated costs were not available Tuesday.

Southington Town Manager Garry Brumback said the department has remained in touch with officials since the incident and have documented progress. A smaller rescue truck and the primary ladder up and running while the others are out of service.
