South Windsor (CT) Town Council Approves Purchase of Fire Apparatus

The Town Council on unanimously supported moving forward with the lease-purchase of a new $826,000 fire engine.

Co. 1 of the South Windsor Volunteer Fire Department will house the Sutphen engine with a 1,500-gallons-per-minute pump and related equipment.

Town Manager Matthew Galligan said the department was given the go-ahead three years ago to begin the process of replacing Engine 4, a 1988 Sutphen fire truck.
