Somerville has bought a reserve fire truck from Scotch Plains for $18,000.

Somerville has bought a reserve fire truck from Scotch Plains for $18,000, reports My Central Jersey.

The borough’s oldest fire truck was submerged during a flood in September flooding. The fire truck had already been scheduled to be retrofitted or replaced.

The 1996 Pierce fire engine was declared as surplus property by Scotch Plains.

The fire engine will be in the annual Inspection Day parade on Main Street on Saturday afternoon.
