Sidney (NE) Fire Department Unveils Engine 31

The Nebraska Community Foundation donated the remaining $43,000 or so for the purchase.

The Sidney (NE) Fire Department recently unveiled its new, nearly $500,000 Engine 31.

Engine 31 holds 750 gallons of water, 25 gallons of foam, and seats six firefighters. Officials say it should be ready for action in January; it will replace a 1992 engine.

The department saved reserve funds for about five years to make the purchase, and the Nebraska Community Foundation donated the remaining $43,000 or so.
