Shelton (CT) Approves Finishing Touches for Fire Apparatus

Shelton officials have approved $28,176 for outfitting and installations for the fire department’s new fire truck, reports Shelton Herald.

The fire department posted to Facebook about the new truck, “The purchase of this 2020 Pierce Ascendant 100’ Aerial Tower will replace the 1996 KME Tower truck that has been housed at Company 1 since it was purchased. The new Aerial Tower will be called “Truck 3” and will provide fire protection for its first due district in the downtown area as well as the entire City of Shelton.

Truck 3 has a 300 gallons water tank and is capable of pumping 2000 gallons of water per minute. This 100’ aerial tower will provide multiple different facets for rescue and fire suppression. We are hoping to take delivery of by the middle of December.”
