Sheldon (IA) Takes Delivery of New Spartan ER Fire Apparatus

The Sheldon (IA) Fire Company recently took delivery of a 2019 Spartan ER top-mount pumper. It replaces the fire company’s 1999 engine. It has a six-person cab, a 1,500-gpm pum with foam system, and 1,000-gallon tank.

Planning for the new fire apparatus began three years ago. The rig was ordered in November 2018 and was added to the fire company’s fleet on December 8, 2019.

It carries 600 feet of 5-inch LDH, 1,200 feet of 2½-inch hose, and 1,000 feet of 1¾-inch hose. It also features all LED lighting.
