Seven Pierce Arrow XT Pumpers on Duty at the Memphis (TN) Division Of Fire Services

Pierce Arrox XT Pumpers Memphis TNAPPLETON, WI—Pierce Manufacturing, an Oshkosh Corporation (NYSE:OSK) company, has placed seven Pierce® Arrow XT™ custom pumpers into service at the Memphis Division of Fire Services located in Memphis, Tenn. Three of the seven fire apparatus are specially equipped foam pumpers and the remaining four are PUC pumpers.

The three custom foam pumpers are deployed to protect areas surrounding the city’s historic Mississippi River port district. Each is equipped with a Pierce exclusive DD13 big block 450-hp engine, TAK-4® independent front suspension, a 19-inch front bumper extension, a 10-inch raised roof cab, and seating for six. The firefighting system includes a 500-gallon water tank, a 250-gallon Class B foam tank, a 25-gallon Class B foam tank, and a 500-lb dry chemical system. The foam pumpers feature 1,500-gpm single-stage pumps, Husky® 12 dual-agent foam systems feeding six discharges, and roof-mounted 1,250-gpm electric monitors.

The four PUC pumpers each feature a DD13 500-hp engine, TAK-4 independent front suspension, side roll and frontal air bag protection system, seating for six firefighters, and an EMS compartment inside the cab. These pumpers also include 750-gallon water tanks, 30-gallon foam cells, and Husky 12 single-agent foam systems. The aluminum bodies feature full height and full depth compartments, nine adjustable shelves, swing-out tool boarde, 500-pound capacity slide out trays, low-mount crosslays, and two lift-up roof compartments.
