San Marcos (TX) Fire Apparatus Damaged in Crash

A San Marcos fire truck was damaged early Friday morning when it was struck by a semi tractor trailer on Interstate 35 near Texas 80 during an emergency call.

Police and firefighters had responded to a call to assist a disabled motorist around 5 a.m. Friday on southbound interstate near the 205 mile marker. The fire apparatus was being used to divert traffic around the scene.

The driver of the semi was ticketed for failure to control speed. Firefighters were able to drive the fire truck from the highway. The fire apparatus is being assessed for damage.
