San Francisco Suspends Two After Alleged DUI Fire Apparatus Crash

The San Francisco Fire Department suspended two assistant chiefs in connection with a crash last summer involving a firefighter who was accused of driving a fire truck while drunk, according to a San Francisco newspaper.

Sources revealed to the San Francisco Chronicle that Art Kenney and David Franklin have been suspended for ten days and eight days, respectively.

Kenney and Franklin had both responded to the crash scene after a rig being driven by then-firefighter Michael Quinn collided with a motorcyclist at Fifth and Howard streets.

Investigators say Quinn had run a red light without making sure the intersection was clear.

The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries when he was thrown into a fire hydrant.
