Sacramento Fire Apparatus Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District, in limited edition, has a pink fire truck.

The district will be supporting the fight against breast cancer by driving the big pink engine. The appearance of the engine is intended to bring a smile to the face of anyone battling cancer.

The engine goes into service Wednesday at Station 61 at 10595 Folsom Blvd. in Rancho Cordova. The so-called “Cancer Awareness” engine will rotate among different stations during October, which is breast cancer awareness month.

The cost to wrap the engine in pink was covered by Vehicle Wraps, Inc., Sacramento Area Firefighters Local 522 and Sac Metro Firefighters Association.
