An old fire truck from Rochester (MA) is now answering the call in Cayce (KY)–as FA reported in January–which was ravaged by a tornado late last year. Wednesday, the recipients and donors met at a conference in MA.
The all-volunteer Fulton County Fire and Rescue in western KY lost a firehouse and four apparatus, including three tankers and one engine, reports wcvb.com.

MA fire officials contacted those in KY immediately after to offer assistance, the report says, and after about a week the plans were set. The KY department was looking for a tanker, and the MA department just so happened to have recently taken one out of service; it was then donated.
Fast-forward to Wednesday at a firefighters’ conference in Worcester, the KY officials got a chance to meet the MA official who made it happen, Rochester Fire Chief Scott Weigel.
