Restoration Plan Underway for Archer County (TX) Fire Apparatus

The Archer County Historical Society (TX) and the Archer Visitor’s Center are taking on a new project:  the restoration of the 1936 Archer City Diamond T Fire Truck, located at the Archer County Museum.

The organizations want to see this piece of history completely restored and used as a marketing tool in Archer City.  The truck was in use by the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department through the 1970’s.

The process of full restoration will take at least a year. The fire truck will be taken completely down from the frame.

Several body shops in Archer County are currently offering bids on the restoration process.
