Campbellton (FL) VFD Celebrates First New Fire Truck in 54 Years

The city of Campbellton, Florida, recently took delivery of a new fire truck, the department’s first new rig since 1971, mypanhandle.com reported.

The truck can hold up to five firefighters. No other rig in the department’s fleet can hold that many firefighters, the report said. Fire officials say they will be making some modifications in order to get it fully equipped to respond to calls, many of which involve accidents on Highway 231, the report said.

A $287,000 USDA grant funded most of the truck; an additional $2,300 was raised to obtain it, according to the report.
