Refurbished Kent (OH) Fire Apparatus Displayed

LaMancusa Auto Body in Kent provided a new paint job on the Kent Fire Department’s 1938 American LaFrance fire engine.

LaMancusa was among several groups that have helped restore the 75-year-old vehicle.

Kent Firefighters Association Local 721 acquired the truck from an antique collector at least four years ago and brought it home to the Kent Fire Department.

Since then, firefighters, including Todd Gavriloff, who has been overseeing the truck’s restoration, have donated their time and efforts to restoring the artifact.

Local 721 has contributed thousands itself to get the vehicle running, while the Kent Historical Society secured a $6,000 grant for the efforts.
The paint job alone was estimated around $12,000.
